Academic Credit
The Department of Communication offers an internship elective course for our majors and minors. The benefits of enrolling in IDS 4942 include:
- Having your internship appear on your transcript
- Developing transferrable skills to build or launch your career
- Receiving feedback to support your professional growth
- Availability on regular and alternate course schedules, so you can still enroll if your internship starts after the add/drop period
Eligibility and Requirements
To participate in the internship course, students must meet the following criteria:
- Be a declared Communication major or minor in good academic standing
- Complete the student interest form
- Apply for internships via Handshake
- Receive an offer letter from the organization
- Enroll in IDS 4942 for an S/U grade
